An opportunity to explore the German market

An opportunity to explore the German market

Trade Mission to Bremerhaven, Germany

Bremerhaven is the seaport of the free hanseatic city of Bremen in Germany. The Department for International Trade (DIT) are working closely with North East Lincolnshire Council, the Enterprise Europe Network and the Grimsby Twinning Centre who are keen to encourage linkages between Bremerhaven and the Yorkshire and the Humber region as well as Greater Lincolnshire.

In May 2017 we will be running a trade mission to Bremerhaven as there are many similarities with the Yorkshire & Humber region including significant commercial ports, nationally important seafood industries, and existing and future growth in offshore renewables amongst others. Northern Germany is also seen as a logical market for first time exporters looking to experience working in an overseas market for the first time.

DIT will be working alongside the Enterprise Europe Network and the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany to support businesses to develop trade relationships as part of the visit.

Target sectors for this mission will include:

• Renewables

• Food & Drink

• Gift ware and Consumer Products

• Automotive

• Chemical

• Medical Life Sciences

The visit will also coincide with the 2nd Seaside City Festival – Shore Leave Bremerhaven.

The festival is a major public event and takes place around the old harbour, new harbour and town centre.

As a business delegate at the event you will benefit from:

• A table top display to showcase your products

• 1:1 meetings arranged via the Bremen Chamber of Commerce

• Chilled display area for food & drink products.

• Assistance from DIT, British Chamber and EEN

Please note: whilst this mission is focused on businesses based in the Yorkshire & Humber region, it is also open to firms based elsewhere in the UK.
